J. Keane Mossman

I have been working since I was 13 years old. When I was younger, I managed event parking lots throughout downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, and later worked my way through college as a bartender, subsequently stepping into the legal field as a paralegal—all while saving every dollar to fund college and law school. I earned my undergraduate degrees from Indiana University and went on to graduate from the University of South Carolina School of Law. During law school, I was an active member of the Health Law Society, President of the SC Sports and Entertainment Law Society, Vice President of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, and was elected to serve as an Ambassador to the South Carolina Bar Association. Today, I continue my involvement as an active Council Member for the South Carolina Bar Health Care Section.

Coming from a family entirely comprised of nurses, my perspective on medicine was shaped from the inside out. Wanting to impact the system from a different angle, I chose to dedicate my legal career to representing providers and healthcare systems. Over the years, I have served as General Counsel for two major healthcare systems and represented clients in private practice at a major law firm in the Midlands of South Carolina.

Throughout my time in healthcare law, I have drafted and reviewed thousands of contracts, taken complex issues to trial, built strong relationships with state agencies, and successfully challenged federal and state authorities on regulatory and statutory hurdles that businesses face. If you are facing a healthcare or business litigation need, chances are I have handled it.

Beyond healthcare, I have experience with veterinary care, construction law, business law, and administrative law. I have helped create dozens of businesses. My goal is to provide a comprehensive, one-stop shop for business-oriented clients, taking personal pride in structuring your venture so you are set up to succeed from day one.

Outside of the office, I am a proud father of one —whom my wife and I named after my favorite fictional attorney from the novel To Kill a Mockingbird—who keeps me busy. When I’m not busy keeping up with him or spending time with my incredible and brilliant wife, whom I met back in 2013 because we share the same birthday, I am an avid runner competing in races across the United States and enjoy golfing.
